Nicole Ritchie goes to “treament facility”

Shortly after announcing that she was seeking medical intervention to help her gain weight, The Simple Life star and Lionel Richie’s adopted daughter Nicole Richie fainted at Hollywood’s up-market nightclub Hyde on Sunday morning at 2 am.

“An employee approached Nicole and her friends and said he was calling 911. They told him not to make the call and that they would take her to hospital themselves. Then they carried her out of the back door,” a witness to the incident was quoted as saying. A spokesperson for the 25-year-old reality star, however, denied the report and said Richie had visited the nightclub but had no fainting spell.

Spiking rumors that she was suffering from an eating disorder, Richie had, on Friday, announced that she was checking into a medical facility to gain weight in a controlled manner. “Nicole has decided to undergo diagnostic treatment to determine why she’s not been putting on any weight. She is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition. It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way as this is not a treatment for an eating disorder,” said her publicist Nicole Perna in a statement.

Due to the therapy, Richie has had to postpone shooting for The Simple Life. In the show, she stars along side Paris Hilton, with whom she recently patched up after a year-long feud.

Earlier, Richie had admitted that she wasn’t too happy about her inability to gain weight and had blamed her breakup with DJ boyfriend Adam Goldstein for her lack of appetite. “I know I’m too thin right now. I’m not happy with the way I look,” she had said in a magazine interview. After consultations with therapists she decided to check into the medical facility.

Should the medical facility fail, Richie can always have the twin boys that she said she would like to be a mother to. “I love twin boys. I think they are so cute. I’ve had twin dogs before. They were cute. I just love twins,” the party girl said, adding that three daughters are also on her agenda. “I’m going to have five kids. I’m going to have three girls and twin boys,” she said.

St Louis most dangerous City

Posted in General on October 30th, 2006

The survey says violent crime surged nearly 20 percent in St. Louis last year. But mayoral aide Jeff Rainford says the survey is based on flawed data. He cites estimates showing the city’s population at 353,000, not 330,000 as cited in the survey.

Also, Rainford notes that St. Louis’ boundaries have been set since 1876. That means affluent suburban areas with low crime are not counted in St. Louis statistics.

Rainford says that if you counted communities like Clayton, Webster Groves and others in the statistics, St. Louis would rank among the communities with the lowest crime rates.
